Yanhao Insect Specimen Co., Ltd in Xiangfan City is the sole privately-owned enterprise in China which breeds insects, manufactures insect specimens, processes special local products and sells farm produce. The R&D team includes the board chairman and three other research fellows, who have been engaged in entomology researches for more than 20 years. They have successfully developed a specialized method of breeding insects. At present, the company has an insect-reproducing base covering an area of 120,000 square meters, an insect specimen storeroom (artificial cave) covering 1,500 square meters and a large-scale exhibition hall for showing insect specimens. The company's annual output of living insects is 50,000 pairs and more than 2 million insect specimens as well.

Incorporating production bases and farmer households in its industrialized development, the company owns various production bases in the mysterious Shennongjia primitive forest areas, for cultivating, edible fungi, medicinal plants and tea, domesticating wild animals, and building factories to process natural foodstuff and tea. The high-grade products of the company - living insects, insect specimen, high-quality medicinal materials, fragrant mushrooms, agarics, rare special natural products, etc. - have been exported to many countries such as America, Germany, Australia and South Korea, etc., being widely welcome by the consumers of these regions.
